If you grow vegetables in your city garden, then you might consider home canning.  Even just a couple of plants can produce more food than you can eat.  Once the tomatoes start coming in (or squash or anything else), they really start coming in.  If you’re like us, you either have to make sure all your cooking revolves around the tomato (or squash or whatever) or you give them away.  Giving them away is a good thing, too.  It makes for good neighbors.  But consider canning.   Here is a website written by the son of a high school sweetheart of mine (yes, still friends, 45 years later, though we don’t have much contact these days).  It’s a nice site.  He lives in California.  Check it out.  Sometimes the comments have more information than the article.  His answer to a question about Pectin, for example.  That’s HERE.  Or just go to the site and explore:  Saving the Season.
