Help Build This Site!

You can contact us at:

We hope that you have found this site useful, and believe – as we do – that there’s a need for a conversation about gardening in the city. This is a labor of love, and we have very few “products” to sell, but it does cost time and money to run a website. So here’s how you can help:

Advertise on our site

Your ad can be placed in either of the sidebars, at the end of an individual posting or above the footing. Text, image or banner links are accepted, with some restrictions. Rates depend on the number of pages, type and size of ad, and the length of time your ad runs. For more information, we can send you a rate sheet, or just let us know which pages you are interested in, the type of ad you want to place, and the html code for the ad you want to place, and we will send you a quote. Remember please, that all ads must be relevant to our website, which is about gardening and gardens. Payments can be made in a variety of ways, including via PayPal. You can contact us at:

Suggest a Link (or report a broken one)

Is there a gardening related website that you think is great? Or maybe you have a favorite garden in your favorite city that you would like to see on our travel page. If there’s something that you think we should know about, then tell us. They do need to have a web presence however, since this is a directory of sorts. Send us the page or link via email. Even if it’s just to comment, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us at:

Spread the Word

First of all, tell your friends (send them a link). Then tell your relatives. Next, when you’re reading a blog or you’re on a forum and it seems appropriate to mention this really useful website that you’ve found — go ahead. Are you in a garden club? There you go – tell the group the next time you meet.  Put a note on the bulletin board at your local garden shop. The possibilities are endless. And we would really appreciate any publicity. A website lives or dies by its search engine rankings. And search engine rankings are led by people visiting our site. Thanks for your help.

Link to Us (or Exchange Links)

Do you have your own website or blog? And does it have something to do with learning gardens or gardening? Then perhaps you would consider putting a link to us on your site. Your visitors would appreciate having access to a content laden resource. And yes, we can reciprocate, but only if your site has a real connection to ours –gardening and gardens of the  world.

We also use Link Market – a very useful site for link exchanges.

Feeds

There is an RSS feed button in the top right corner of the blog home page. Click that and you’ll be notified every time the blog is updated.

Visit Our Advertisers

One way for a website like ours (one that doesn’t sell a lot of “products”) to pay the bills is to advertise. We try to keep the advertising from interfering with the experience, and we also try to keep the advertising relevant to the site. Here’s how you can help: If you are thinking about making a purchase, or perhaps a reservation, please use one of the affiliate links on any of the pages of A Garden in the City. Each time you make a purchase, a few pennies go to this site. And it won’t cost you anything extra. Nada. Just clicking onto a link doesn’t produce any revenue for us, although I’m sure the advertiser would be glad to have your visit. So please, feel free to use our site for any (or all) of your purchases or reservations. Thanks.

Visit Our Other Websites

Like most people, we have myriad interests.  And we’ve been developing websites to go along with those interests.  We’d love for you to visit our sites.  Not all of them are up and running, but we expect them all to be on line by the end of this year.  So if a link to one of these sites isn’t working (it might take you to a site that is working), check back in a few weeks.  And thanks for visiting.

Learn Spanish, Travel Spanish If you’ve ever wanted to learn Spanish, or to travel somewhere in the Spanish speaking world, then this is the site for you.  It has links to all the resources you’ll need for learning Spanish, from beginner to advanced.  And every Spanish speaking country is represented.  What to do, where and when to go, how to get there and get around while you’re there, where to stay and where to dine.  It’s all here.

Rooms With Great Views Are you looking for a room with a great view?  We have photos of views from rooms all around the world, just waiting for you to see.  You can even reserve that room from our site.  Do you have a photo of a great view that you took on your latest trip?  We’d love to share it with the world.

Travel Over 60 Did you know that some car rental agencies won’t rent to people over a certain age?  Many cruise ship “excursions” have cut offs as well.  But there are BIG discounts to be had for people over 60, so it’s not all bad news.  Come explore the trials and JOYS of traveling over 60.  Don’t even think about slowing down.

My Nice Little Life
Subtitle:  How to Be Happy.  And that fairly explains this website’s philosophy.  You don’t need to be rich (lots of rich people aren’t happy).  You don’t need to be “lucky”.  There are things you can do to make your life a happier one.  There has been a lot of interest (scientific and otherwise) in the study of happiness in the last few years.  Join us as we look at all the many aspects of happiness — and what we can do to improve our own “happiness levels”.

Make a Donation

Some good folks would rather help as directly as they can. If you like our site and want to see it succeed and continue, then you might want to consider just making a donation. We use PayPal. Click here…..

You’re a good person. Thank you.
