What Should We Do With This Website?

When we started this site, it was sort of a test.  I guess we weren’t really sure what it was going to be.  People have always expressed an interest in our garden, and we love to share gardening stories.  And we wanted to explore the joys and pains of gardening in the city, but we don’t really have a clear focus.  We originally had a “Resources” page that was going to be a sort of “portal” with links to a long long list of garden resources.  We gave that up because a) it was a lot of work and 2) other websites (and search engines) could do it a lot better than we could.  We changed that to “Garden Blogs”, which was to be sort of an extended Blog Roll, listing our and your favorite garden blog sites.  We’re still debating whether we want to follow through with that or not.

We also have a “Garden Travel” page, with a map showing gardens all around the world.  That’s been fun, but it also is a lot of work, and frankly hasn’t drawn much interest.

We’ve enjoyed researching and writing our articles, but we don’t know which ones you prefer reading.

So here are our questions (for you and for ourselves):  Should we concentrate on just our garden and gardens and gardeners in our town, or should we make it larger?  Should we keep the “Garden Travel” and “Garden Blogs” pages?   Which articles did you enjoy the most?  What should we write about?

The common wisdom is that it takes about a year for a Blog to find it’s “voice”, and we’ve been writing about three and a half months.  Shall we continue?  Help us out here.  Let us know what you think.  Use the comment button below.  Thanks.

  1. I would vote for seeing more about your gardens and your experiences. I learn best from those who have experienced the things they are talking about.
